Cleaning equipment for exchange

JSC “Gandras energoefektas” has won tender on designing, supplying and installing cleaning equipment for exchange surfaces of coal boiler KE 25-14-250 and its economizer.
Installation purpose of the boiler and it’s economizer cleaning system was to prevent the accumulation of ashes and particulate matter over exchange surfaces, over structures and over all components.
Installed cleaning system and compressed air supply system are fully automatic.
This system uses sound waves to prevent the accumulation of ashes and particulate matter over exchange surfaces, over structures and over all components that need to be cleaned. This system, which operates on-line, keep constantly cleaned all the surfaces.

Cleaning system design and function

This cleaning system generates a sound wave shape within a safe field range.
It is composed by a horn or diffusor, a specific-shaped acoustic generator and a membrane.
All units are equipped with special protections, which have been developed with the aim to protect workers from high temperatures and noise emissions.
Compressed air enters the generator, act on the membrane that starts to vibrate and emitting a high-intensity sound pressure wave. Membrane is produced from special titan alloy. Thus it assures all system operation reliability at high temperatures (above 500°C), because of the following titan alloy advantages over the most stainless and heat-resisting steels, which are heat resistance, thermal stability, ductility property. The specific-shaped geometry of the diffusor horn gives modulation and frequency to the generated wave (specific for the application needed).
Compressed air, which feeds the generator, is water-free and filtered from dust and debris. There is foreseen automatic compressors condensate drain in a compressed air system.


Brief description of boiler КЕ 25-14-250 cleaning system 

 

Basing on dimensional data and boiler КЕ 25-14-250 characteristics, JSC „Gandras energoefektas“have developed the project considering the whole complete cleaning of the boiler and economizer heat exchange surfaces by installing 4 cleaning units on the boiler and 2 on the economizer. But, at the request of the customer (because of limited budget) there were made some recalculations and decided to install 2 cleaning units on the boiler and 2 on the economizer.
The efficiency of a system is very high since, at a 1000 °C temperature and with the correct sound power, 2 Units sounding together can reach 9 meters cleaning range.
Every plant with its own process logic and apparatus dimension on which the system is installed, has variable and unique characteristics.
Cleaning system’s units are driven from the electric control panel with, placed in accessible position close to the devices.
Cost of this project - 43 440,00 Eur. Installation of cleaning devices was coincident with repair of a boiler setting, what also reduced project estimated costs.
