Local boiler plant Kalkuni reconstruction

Boiler plant reconstruction purpose was to change-over plant‘s fuel from heavy fuel oil (mazout) burning to biomass pellets burning (renewable, environment friendly fuel). It was installed 3 (three) new automatic water heating boilers with capacity 400 kW each, fully automatic fuel receiving, storage and supply to the boilers system, also other auxiliary equipment, including make-up water treatment plant, water supply and recirculation pumps, multicyclon, smoke fan, flue gases track and water pipelines, automatic control system. Boilers have fully automatic heating surfaces cleaning system by means of compressed air. The scope of the fulfilled reconstruction, commissioning and start-up works fully complied with the Contract. Works were fulfilled in very tight period (from the August till the middle of December) and in the end the boiler plant was switched to burn biomass. During commissioning and start-up all the boilers reached 110 % capacity. Installation of these new water heating boilers burning wood pellets reduced the costs of heat production: for 1 MW of produced heat fuel costs decreased for 70 %, electricity consumption decreased for 60 %.
