Heat-exchangers are devices in which there is a heat transfer from the heating medium (heat-carrier) to the heated medium. There are a two heat-exchangers types - plate heat-exchangers and shell-and-tube heat-exchangers.

Shell-and-tube heat-exchangers – the heated medium passes through the tubes of small diameter which are in a tube of the larger diameter with the heat-carrier.

Plate heat-exchangers carry out heat transfer through the thin (0,4-0,7 mm) goffered plates made from noncorrosive steel or other special alloys.
