Triple screw pumps are of the positive displacement axial flow screw type with only three moving parts - a power rotor and two idler rotors. These pumps are suitable for the following liquids: machine oil, diesel oil, lubricating oil, black oil.

Triple screw pumps works on a principle of TRIRO: central power rotor and two idler rotors. These three rotors have accurately machined intermeshing threads which are called auger. Rotor screws act as seals in relation to each other in the pump body.

Pumping principle
The power rotor is connected directly to the prime mover and acts primary operation. The idlers act as seals and cause perform no work, so no gears are required, except the hydraulically action of the pumped liquid. Rotor screws forms the closure in the pump chamber and as the screw set rotates the unfolding closures moves in direction of axis from sucking side along the pump chamber. At the discharge end liquid flows into discharging pipe under pressure which is created by the system.
