Gas fired 15MW boiler

Under PAS “Daugavpils siltumtīkli” request in district heating plant No. 1 (18. Novembra ielā 2, Daugavpils) was made reconstruction of existing water heating boiler No. 4. Main reconstruction task was to change existing boiler No. 4, which is worn-out and obsolete, to the new one 15 MW capacity water heating boiler with automatic natural gas fired burner, with auxiliary equipment.
Boiler will operate as network water reheater after steam turbine.

The project includes design and installation of the boiler, it’s connection to existing gas supply line, thermal water system, to existing flue gas train to supply flue gases to the chimney, design and installation of boiler recirculation pump to secure minimum temperature of 70 C of return water to the boiler, shot-off, control and safety vales, monitoring and test instruments.

The project was realized in operating district heating plant, which is historical monument (plant’ building was built more than 100 years ago), because of that it was not permissible to disturb building facade. It was specified requirements to potential equipment measurements because of building openings and existing foundation (initially the plant was erected and coal fired plant and boiler’s foundation was on alt. +5.385). It was studied more than 8 boilers manufacturer’s proposals, discussed with them boiler’s components dimensions, after what came to the conclusion that just company WOLF Energy Solution (Russia) can meet most of requirements. WOLF Energy Solution together with UAB Gandras Energeoefektas specially for this project designed boiler supply project in such way that all components would suit to existing openings and redesign boiler’s flue exhaust to use existing flue gas train to the maximum.
