In 2021, UAB "Gandras energoefektas" signed an agreement with UAB "Vilniaus vandenys" for the installation of a sewage pump with the reconstruction of suction and discharge pipelines.
Main technical requirements:
- Pump performance at duty point – 700 m3/h
- Motor power – 150 kW
- Design, assemble and program three automation cabinets: for gate valve control, for pump control and for system dispatching.
- Design and install an internal piping branch to connect the new pump.
- Replace suction lines DN800 (AISI316) for two pumps.
- Replace the shut-off and control valve DN700 on the discharge pipeline.
Project implementation:
The work was carried out at the central (largest) sewage pumping station of the city of Vilnius, serving most of the old town and Vilnius City Municipality.
The sewer station worked continuously and, unfortunately, the storage tank did not have a dividing wall. Therefore, to replace the suction pipelines for the pumps we’ve produced and installed a temporary stopping gate.
Since, with a large amount of precipitation, the level of sewage exceeds the level of the reservoir and the concentration of methane in the air, all work had to be carried out non-stop for two days with forced ventilation of the reservoir.
Unfortunately, due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the delivery of pumping equipment and automation components has been delayed.
We sincerely thank the customer for understanding in such a difficult situation.
Commissioning:
During commissioning, due to the complex pumped medium, increased vibrations occurred on the pump pipelines. UAB “Gandras Energoefektas” installed additional supports and strengthened the pipeline, which made it possible to normalize vibrations. After eliminating the increased vibrations, the passages of the pipelines through the wall were additionally sealed with special foam.
Results:
All work performed and installed equipment fully comply with the requirements of the customer.
Everything turned out well thanks to the active participation of the customer and his assistance during construction and installation work.
